Here you can read the history and background of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals
The SDGs or Global Goals were set forth in 2015 by the United Nations, and were adopted by 193 countries.
The goals were intended for nations and high-level organisations to support their work on creating sustainable development for everyone around the world. Soon it was clear that the 17 goals were also amazing tools for corporate entities, educational institutions, NGOs and individuals, because they gave everyone a unified language to discuss development.
We, SDG Sprint, use the SDGs because they are this unified language, and it enables companies to view themselves in a new light, that enables them to:
- Innovate on their products and services
- Engage their internal and external stakeholders
- Connect with new markets
- Establish themselves as leaders in their industry
